Event Brief

There has long been a need for the timely and accurate exchange of information between individual military assets. The Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) and associated Link 16 message catalogue can contribute to interoperable data communications by reliably sharing a wide range of data and secure communications between suitably equipped platforms.

The Introduction to MIDS/Link 16 course informs the delegates on the basics of Tactical Data Links, and then provides the operational and technical capabilities of MIDS/Link 16. The course also explores Network Management, Frequency Clearance issues and the Interoperability challenges faced by todays warfighters.
