Event Brief

Electronic Protection (EP) – Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) Systems, is a three-day course targeted at Electronic Warfare (EW) professionals, engineers, and project staff. The course is split into three stages, covering an introduction to Electronic Protection, LPI systems and their waveforms, and the current state of the art in countering LPI systems.

The first day provides students with the necessary background in radar and EW systems, and how EP is incorporated into Radio Frequency (RF) systems. The second day provides an overview of all aspects of LPI technologies, but with an emphasis on radar waveforms. The final day of the course provides a detailed review of the current state of the art in countering LPI radars. Emphasis will be placed on how to implement various methods for countering LPI radar, including demonstrations of their effectiveness. The lessons will conclude with an overview of machine learning, and its growing utility in EP.

The objective of this course is to provide the students with an understanding of EP and LPI systems, and how to develop effective EP. In addition to lessons, demonstrations and labs will be incorporated, and all related code will be provided to the students.
