Event Brief

In this webinar, you will gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of modern radar technology in simple, easy-to-understand terms. The student will learn radar principles, techniques, phenomenology, and the basics of radar technology.

The webinar will start with a brief introduction to key concepts and an overview of the course. We will then present a detailed derivation and description of the radar range equation, a fundamental tool in the analysis of radar performance. This will be followed by a discussion on radar waveforms, their characteristics and the methodologies used in extracting useful information from radar returns.

Lastly, the discussion will center on the measurement of target range, velocity, and angle (direction from the radar). Fundamental concepts such as measurement uncertainty, resolution and ambiguity will be introduced and described in the context of system performance.
